I like to put my own spin on things when teaching.  I often try to relate the concept to a life experience the students have had or have knowledge of.  For example, when teaching division, I use the situation of trying on shoes and clothes.  It helps them tremendously, and sticks with them later on!  If you would like to see my personal take on different lessons, please follow the link below to my class page.  There you will find the notes I use in class... along with my spin on the concept.
